This is an example of social bookmarking. In addition to old-fashioned lists of links (which we've kept on the left), above we have what is called a "cloud" of tags.

A Tag is, in the words of del.icio.us, "simply a word you use to describe a bookmark. Unlike folders, you make up tags when you need them and you can use as many as you like. The result is a better way to organize your bookmarks and a great way to discover interesting things on the Web."

One interesting aspect of the cloud approach is that the font used conveys an idea about the "popularity" of the tag -- that is, the more a term is linked, the more prominent the tag -- bigger, bolder, etc.  For example, you'll probaby see "theatre", "Knoxville", and "Tennessee" in pretty big, bold, orangy type up above, but lesser-used terms may be pretty tiny.
